What are things you bring to class with you or ways you deal with chronic pain in college? #Spring26
What are ways that people with chronic pain deal with sitting in class or lectures that haven't gotten them in trouble? I know it's a silly question, but would a professor look at me all weird is I brought a lumbar support pillow with me? do you think I should reach out to professors to let them know I might need stuff like that, or should I just bring it in with me no warning? Thank you! #Spring26

Your college should have a dedicated person / team who is there to accommodate the needs of students (I'm in the UK so it's hard for me to know what they're called in your region). It will be something like student support services. They will also likely deal with disability access services, mental health support, dyslexia, ADHD etc etc.
Reach out to them and ask for accommodations to be made for you during lessons for your chronic pain. This might be the ability to take a 5 min break to walk around, or, as you're suggesting, to bring in physical items to help alleviate your symptoms.
This team / person may also be able to provide extra accommodations like extra time in exams. They will also alert your professors of the specific accommodations you've been granted, so they definitely won't look at you weird!
Best advice is to find the support team who can help provide the right help for your needs.
Good luck!
