How and when should you know you are in the right major?
I'm a senior planning on studying chemistry at the University of Virginia next year. But I also am not certain that is what I want to pursue. I hear a lot about people changing majors quite a bit in college, but I feel like a lot of the perception of a subject is based on specific classes and professors. How can I be sure that I am doing something that will set me up for a career I enjoy and what should I consider when I have to officially declare my major?

What are the most practical daily study habits I can build right now to stay consistent, reduce burnout, and set myself up for getting into my dream college and building a successful future career long-term ?
My future vision for myself 10 years from now shows me standing inside the illuminated kitchen of the townhome located at 6601 Hunters Glen Road in Dallas Texas which demonstrates my development into a community-oriented architectural professional. The kitchen serves as more than a cooking space because it functions as my home's central space which shows my design preferences through its warm and welcoming design elements that create social connections. The open-concept layout of the space provides direct access to both the living room and dining area which makes it suitable for my planned cultural exchange dinners that will bring together neighbors from different backgrounds to exchange life stories and traditional recipes. The large windows create a well-lit area because they bring in soft Texas light which illuminates the quartz countertops where I will show immigrant children how to make mooncakes and spring rolls which my family taught me. The essential aspect of this space shows how I learned to create "soul" through all of my work. The home's clean lines together with its functional design create a purposeful effect which conveys warmth through its public areas that I design to be user-friendly and approachable while maintaining their fundamental purpose. The kitchen's glass doors open to the backyard area where I will grow the same slow-growing trees my grandmother taught me about because they demonstrate that both architectural and community development require extended periods of dedication. The townhome serves as my permanent residence while also showing my purpose to create designs that help people experience both safety and comfort in their home environments. I will continue to establish cultural connections through my volunteer work which I began in this space by sharing meals and conducting meaningful discussions with others.

How do I balance internships with other higher paying jobs?
I know getting an internship is necessary, but how should I balance that with a high paying former job? I need the work experience of the internship but also the money from the other job. If I don't get a ton of scholarships or grants, I will definitely need the money. Also, should I get a job or side hustle while I am at school?
How can I build a career in medicine that combines scientific research and patient empathy, especially for individuals living with chronic illnesses?
My life hasn’t followed a straight line, but every challenge has shaped who I am and what I stand for. Losing my father to gun violence and living with Crohn’s disease taught me resilience early on. Instead of letting those experiences define my limits, I used them to define my purpose and deepen my empathy for others.

What is something that you had to unlearn after starting college that you thought was important before? How did that shift your mindset?
I’m a senior planning to major in Social Work, with a strong interest in the medical field; specifically pediatric oncology. I’m curious about mindset shifts that happen in college, especially when it comes to things like grades, time management, emotional boundaries, or expectations in helping professions. I’d really value hearing about something you had to unlearn and how it changed the way you approach your work or education now.

What experiences (internships, research, language skills, networking, etc.) would make me a competitive candidate for top law schools and legal firms?
I'm a freshman in college majoring in economics and East Asian Studies with aspirations to become an international corporate lawyer working between the U.S. and China. In college, I hope to gain the rich interdisciplinary perspective necessary to foster collaboration across borders. This foundation is what I’ll refine in law school!
Looking back, what is one mistake you made early in your career that you wish you could avoid—and how can I avoid it?
When starting out, mistakes are inevitable—everyone makes them. I’ve realized that what can make them harder is being too self-critical afterward. Instead of learning and moving forward, it’s easy to get stuck overanalyzing or doubting yourself. I’m trying to shift toward seeing mistakes as feedback rather than failure.
What does a strong first 6–12 months in an entry-level role actually look like in practice for people working in marketing, and what tends to separate someone who quickly gets trusted with bigger projects from someone who mainly stays in executional support work?
For context, I'm asking as an upcoming college graduate who wants to pursue marketing and has been looking for roles in any kind of marketing space: product, brand, influencer, etc.
My greatest passion and goal is to be a journalist, but AI makes me unsure about how sustainable writing-heavy careers are. What would you say to someone with that concern”?
I feel like there's so much being said right now about how journalism is a dying field, and this has only gotten worse recently with AI usage. From your perspective, what is something that I should ready to adapt to in the field of journalism? Also, do you think that the writing side of journalism will soon be completely replaced by automation or artificial intelligence?

How should I, as a freshman, look to get involved on campus, in order to build a quick sense of community and belonging, so that college can feel like home?
I am a high school senior, who is going to attend Liberty University, in Virginia, in the fall. How can I fully succeed as a Forensic Science major in Miami?
I'm a student here in the state of Florida. Specifically, Hillsborough County. I have been heavily involved in Criminal Justice and Law, considering I am a part of my high school's magnet program and was one of the only four high schoolers able to write a law and have it passed by the governor. I am all over the place when it comes to finances, considering I am going to school hours a way down in Miami. With that said, how can I make sure I succeed or get the biggest financial benefit living in Miami with this work?
What does being an esports coach and a teacher look like, and am I able to do that while being a teacher To add on that do you think I could be an elementary school teacher and that school's esports manager/coach at the same time? For anyone that might have experience with that please tell me what it's like.?
I would be teaching elementary education in Minnesota most likely. My coaching would be hands on which takes more time than just setting up drills for your players and saying, "Hey, go do this and do your own VOD reviews". A VOD review is when you go through past games and point out mistakes in gameplay and suggest better decisions.

What experiences in college helped you decide to pursue psychiatry or neuroscience, and what do you wish you had done earlier in high school to prepare?
I’m currently a high school student interested in pursuing a career in adolescent psychiatry, with plans to major in Neuroscience on a pre-med track. I’m especially interested in understanding how early academic and extracurricular experiences shape the path toward medicine and mental health fields. I’d really appreciate hearing about specific college experiences—classes, research, volunteering, clinical exposure, or even personal moments—that helped confirm your interest in psychiatry or neuroscience. I’m also curious about what you wish you had done earlier in high school to better prepare for this path, whether academically, socially, or through extracurricular involvement. Any advice or insight you can share would be really helpful as I plan my next steps.
