I’m a senior at Baruch College majoring in Marketing (3.95 GPA), concentrating in luxury branding and social media strategy. I graduate in December 2027 and I’m applying for Summer 2027 marketing internships at companies like Estée Lauder, L’Oréal, LVMH, and Hermès. I’ve interned at Capri Holdings on Michael Kors social media campaigns, worked in hospitality marketing in Italy and Saudi Arabia, and earned the Inside LVMH certificate. I currently do social media marketing for a growing startup. My long-term goal is to become a marketing manager at a beauty company while building my own drink brand. What helps candidates stand out for these roles? Should I build a portfolio, focus on networking, or learn specific tools like GA4 or Figma? I’d also love advice on how to turn informational chats with employees into referrals.

How do I break into finance/wealth management with no finance experience? I’m currently 22 finishing my B.S. in Finance & Technology with a 4.0 GPA, and I’m about 7 months away from graduating. I’ve been taking extra courses to move my graduation timeline up from 2029 to 2027 due to family pressure which is making my stress daily. Over the past year, I’ve become much more interested in wealth management, asset management, investing, and financial services, but I’m struggling to get my first real finance-related opportunity. I’ve applied to a lot of internships and entry-level positions, even positions that are entry level banking, but I haven’t been able to land anything yet. I’ve also worked with my school counselor to make my resume as strong as possible based on my experience, so at this point I’m trying to figure out what I should actually be doing differently to break into the industry. For people already working in finance: * What’s the best way to get into finance/wealth management when you don’t have prior finance experience? * How did you get your first finance-related opportunity? * With about 7 months left before graduation, what should I focus on learning or building right now? * Are cold emails/LinkedIn networking with wealth-management firms, RIAs, or investment firms actually effective? * Would it be worth reaching out to smaller firms about internships, part-time positions, or even shadowing opportunities? * What skills or certifications would make me more competitive? I know I have a career but I can't figure out what it is.
I left my first job because I didn't like the work, even though it paid well and was remote. I don't like being stuck in one field doing the same work (leads) for 7 days. I am starting not to like marketing, but that is what I'm good at. The titles, nature of work, and the idea of servicing products to prospects dread me more than before. I want to pivot to another field, but it feels like a waste to use only a short list of transferable skills. Some fields I want require a degree/ internships not related to my experience/education. After months, I am still lost, and I'm scared to put a lot of effort into it only for it to be a waste.
What should I do to prepare for marketing?

How can Network with accounting firms in Colorado if I live in Texas?
I want to live in Colorado after I graduate. I currently live in Texas and attend college here, so most accounting firm networking and recruiting events I go to are for Dallas, Houston, and other Texas cities. How can I start networking with accounting firms in Colorado and increase my chances of getting accounting internships there so I can hopefully get a job in Colorado after graduation? I keep getting rejected from accounting internships in Colorado, and firms I meet at networking events often say they want interns to receive return offers in the same location. Should I focus on getting an accounting internship in Texas to build my résumé and experience, then move to Colorado and apply for full-time jobs after graduation, or should I keep trying to get an accounting internship in Colorado?
What are some ways that have helped you while working at home?
I have had multiple work-from-home internships, and it just didn't sit right with me. I want to work onsite where I can see the people, body language, and all that. Even though working from home provided comfort without the commuting, dressing up, and the hassle of getting on time. I just can't help working soon in a remote setting. For those working at home, how do you survive it?

I am a junior in high school interested in psychology, criminal justice, art, and history. How can I get into musical theatre as a performer? Where should I look into for career paths?
It's started to be clearer to me that I want to work in the media/entertainment/theatre area, so I'm moving away from sports since it wasn't a passion. I was never involved in sports; I was a once in a while viewer. I'm currently a PR intern and stage management intern, I'm enjoying what Ive gotten to learn and the hands-on opportunity that I've been given. It is a bit of writing though, so it's not terrible. But, I also want to go back into singing and music, specifically in musical theatre. I want to be a performer, but where do I even start? I've never done acting or dance and I'm a little rusty after not having choir class for 2 years now. I plan on finishing my communications degree since I'm graduating a semester early. I've looked into the institute of American musical theatre, but I would need an audition for dance and acting. Should I go for a program or outside classes that offer all three components. I'm debating trying to apply for the page program at nbc after I graduate or other companies with a page program. I have a semester and a half left, so I plan getting involved in clubs and hopefully getting an internship with a media/entertainment company, although I'm not the best at cover letters.
What do you do on the first day of your job or internship?
Hello! I am still unemployed and still have a couple of questions in my mind. I am reflecting on my previous experiences, and I notice that I have difficulty doing or starting the tasks assigned to me if I do not know the full plan of the project. Situation#1: Manager gives me tasks like benchmark this and that, create a research plan with this. (usual) Situation#2: There is a full meeting talking about the project. Still clueless about the systems and how the management is run. It is like, how do I approach work in the company that I'm new to? It seems that I need an orientation of the department, like some readings on how the business works, the goals, and how projects work. I did coffee chats but they seem to give me different answers or the "it is what it is". It is like I need to understand all that first to fully immerse myself in the work.

Hello! I'm a rising junior in high school interested in pursuing architecture. I was wondering if there are any internship opportunities for me related to architecture or arts in general, particularly NJ based or virtual. If not, are there any free programs related to art/architecture that could help me get into a T20 college in the future? Any other advice would also help. I have done shadowing in an architecture firm in the past, but it is too far away from me to continue. What is the fastest way to get leadership roles/recognitions under 2 months?
I need 5 recognitions and 5 leadership roles for an application I've been eyeing for an MBA. What I can only do is volunteer in orgs for social media or anything they are in need of help. I am not in uni anymore. What can I do? How can I reframe this? Will anyone be willing to review my resume or career history? Does the recommendation letter person's "authority/title" matter? Also, currently actively seeking internships first before before jobs because I lack the experience and practical skillset. But I feel like I'm lowballing myself, considering I do have some experience, but it seems that the " unpaid internship" is too heavy for one person (marketing + analytics).

How to find your style?
I found out, as I had my dream internship, that I am really not the creative type. I can't formulate creative and innovative ideas. Everything seems to be benchmarked or derived from someone else's formula. I am too traditional. My eye for design is proper and pleasing to the eye. Somehow bland and strict and not sassy and popping colours or the genZ way.

Hi. i sm a CS student in my 2nd year and I've got an internship starting in 2 weeks. I feel as if i sm behind the other interns and i don't know much to actually even start the internship. I've been learning some c++ and OOP principles as the firmware description said that those are the need to knows. I have goals and dreams before graduation, and I should have a job offer. Here I am two weeks before graduation, in a rut. I have my ultimate dream internship. However, my experience was cut short since I moved to a remote setup. My goal for 4 years was to land an internship outside my province. I did it. And so what now? I feel hopeless. I am having trouble asking myself what I really want to do + time constraint... I want to do an MBA, but it seems impossible at the moment.
