What Colleges Have A Good Child Development Major?

I'm currently in 10th grade and need to start researching more into colleges I want to attend. As we must make a list of colleges we are looking at for my scholarship program. I want to stay in california but out of state is considerable depending on their financial aid. I'm also completing my Associates Degree in hopes to finish before high school through LACCD. So a college willing to accept it would be perfect. With this in mind are there any colleges that stand out or come to mind as though I have a preference changes are willing to be made.

Advice on J-1 to F-1 Change of Status, Community College Choices, and My Education Plan?

Hi everyone! My name is Laura, and I’m currently in the United States on a J-1 visa through a cultural exchange program. My goal is to start studying in a community college and eventually pursue a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. I am planning to apply for a Change of Status from J-1 to F-1 without leaving the U.S., but I want to make sure I understand the process, timeline, and best practices. I’m considering several community colleges in California, including De Anza College, Foothill College, College of San Mateo, Ohlone College, San Francisco City College, Diablo Valley College. I want to choose a school where I can afford tuition, complete my prerequisites, and later transfer to a strong engineering program. I would love advice on my overall plan and any insights from people who have gone through similar experiences. Here are my main questions: 1. About the J-1 to F-1 Change of Status What are the most important steps I should follow to avoid delays or a denial? What would you recommend regarding timing for submitting the I-539 application? Are there common mistakes J-1 students make when applying for F-1 status? How can I best prove financial solvency as an international student? 2. About Choosing a Community College for Engineering Which factors should I prioritize when comparing community colleges for an Industrial Engineering pathway (transfer rates, support services, articulation agreements, cost, etc.)? Does anyone have experience in the engineering programs at De Anza, Foothill, San Mateo, Ohlone, or Diablo Valley College? What should I look for to make sure my courses will transfer to universities later on? 3. About My Long-Term Education Plan What skills or experiences should I start building now to be a strong engineering student and future transfer applicant? What are good strategies to balance working, saving, and preparing for full-time study? Is there anything you wish you had known before starting community college as an international student? Thank you so much for any guidance! I really appreciate any advice on navigating this process and making informed decisions for my career in Industrial Engineering.

What are good colleges preferably in california but out of state works too. That have good elementary education majors or the science of child development?

I am currently in 10th grade and have to make a college list for my scholarship programs highlighting colleges I'm interested in. Categorized by high reach and easily attainable. Through my search I couldn't find many good colleges with said majors. One of the only college I saw was University of La Verne which is good since it's in state. Another important thing to me is that they are willing to accept my college credits I have accumulated through dual enrollment at community college. Overall I'm just wondering what are good colleges for these majors as I want to work with children in the future.

Do you know of any website(s) where I can find scholarships in California?

I want to have as much information as possible and have access to scholarships, but I don't know which ones I can truly trust, and the ones I've seen have deadlines too soon and I don't have time to apply or I'm not eligible.

Which MS Finance Program should I choose?

Hello!! I will be pursuing a master's in Finance this year. I got accepted to 3 universities, but I don't know which one I should pick. I'm coming straight out of undergrad with a Bachelor's in liberal arts and haven't been able to secure any finance-related internships. So, I decided to do a master's in finance to pivot in my career. My goals are to be a financial analyst or an Investor relations professional, and I would like to pivot my career in financial planning down the line. I got accepted into MS QF from Northeastern, MSF from Ohio State, and MFIN from UCI. Which one should I pick based on my career goals? I live in CA currently and I got a 25k scholarship to attend UCI, 16k for Ohio, and 10k for Northeastern.

What is the best way to become an art therapist with a BA in Studio Art?

I have a BA in Studio Art from CSULA, and I would like to go back to school to become an Art Therapist. With that said, does anyone know if it's better to go to a school that has an Art Therapy graduate program or would it be more advantageous to get into a Masters program for clinical psychology?

Advice/Recs for HS Student About College Admissions?

Hi! I'm an upcoming junior in high school and I figured that this would probably be the most important year in HS when talking about college admissions. I'm a Cali resident and most of the colleges I'm applying to are in-state. I'm just worried that with the amount of pressure and expectations that UCs and CSUs have currently, that I won't be able to get in my top schools. I'm planning on majoring in Health Sciences, and I know that some of the programs are hard to get into. These are some of my stats: -I'm taking the SAT and ACT this year -4.4/4.0 GPA -11 APs, 5 Honors Classes, 8 DE classes -As far for Honors and Awards, I only have a State Champs for Color Guard Freshman Year and probably an AP Scholar Award in the future.  My biggest problems are my ECs, I'm president of a Habitat for Humanity Club and planning on making a Medical Connections Club next year. Other than that, I have a volunteer hours and am active in my school. I'm just worried that all of these are average, especially considering the schools I'm applying for. I wanted to start getting in touch with hospitals for shadowing and also do a research/passion project, but I don't know where to start. Sorry if this was too long but do you guys have any advice or recommendations n what to do?

Health Care/Medical Internships and Programs during the school year and summer for High School students?

Hi, I am a rising senior in High School. I was wondering if you could show me links of Research/Volunteering/Programs/Internship Opportunities in Medicine for High School students that are taking place during the school year. This would be during Spring, Fall, and Winter Season. Also, any other opportunities that take place during the summer. Specifically, ones that take place in the Bay Area. Thank you!

Which university should I go to? NC state at Raleigh or Cal State, Long Beach?

I'm a international student from Iran and I have been accepted to both NCSU and CSULB and I can't decide which one I should attend :) Cal state is ranked 105 while NC state is 60 among Value schools. Cal state is a lot cheaper though and they offer scholarship for international students after their first semester but NC state doesn't offer many scholarships for international students and I didn't get scholarship anyway :) They both have a good On-Campus employment and also, I know I can be around a well Iranian community in Long Beach. I love Cal state's campus a lot better but NC state offers a very good program in engineering, which is the field I want to study. I'm planning to do double major in engineering and industrial design if I go to CSULB, engineering and politics if I go to NC state. Do you think it worth to sacrifice the prestige and ranking stuff of NC state to go to Long Beach? I feel like my heart is mostly towards Long Beach due to the nice environment and the decent cost; but my mind is more towards NC state as its ranking is better (It's a lot more expensive though). Oh and the last thing, I'm thinking of doing an exchange semester or year in Europe! I will appreciate your honest thoughts and possible experiences :) Thank you for your time to read! :)
