Nereida Lizeth’s Answer

Former Full time student and Full time manager. I balanced my classes with my days off. It was challenging at the time working 40 hours in the retail management environment, but I ensured to schedule my "off" days during the week so I could attend class.

My biggest personal push was setting time aside in my calendar for studying like it were an event. It helped to ground me in following through with the scheduled time. I also ensured to maximize the time I was on campus to speak with my professors about any questions and I joined a virtual study group with my peers.

Also, maintaining a healthy lifestyle when possible. I tried to limit my caffeine to the mornings and drink a juice smoothie later in the day if I needed a pick me up.

The road during the course is going to feel difficult, but once I completed my courses and saw that "A" or "passing" grade at the end, it made the sacrifice worth it.

Best of luck!

Janay’s Answer

It's so important to find a hobby outside of school and work that brings you joy. That will keep you motivated. It doesn't have to be something grand, but if you can find a couple of hours a week to pour into yourself that will give you the energy you need. You are a person outside of work and school so it's important to pour into that side of you.
