1) Do not go into the arts -- any media -- for the money. The odds of making a living as either an actor or director are against you. You need to go into them for love because you can spend a lifetime never making it big.

2) Spelling counts. In any career, people will judge you on your written communications. Grammar and spelling will play a large part in introducing you to the world. Put your best foot forward.
