Hi Justin!

I struggled with this in high school and college (and I honestly still struggle with this today). I agree with what Kayla shared in her comment. Some of my best college friends came from those basic conversations from people I was sitting next to in class. A simple, "Did you know how to do this homework question?" or "When is the next test? How are you planning on studying for it?" can go a long way. Soon you may be meeting up with them to study, celebrating (or commiserating) each other on grades, and a friendship may be a natural progression.

Don't forget to just be yourself!

Be yourself
Push yourself outside of your comfort zone and start some conversations

If you have trouble making friends, there are a few things you could try!

For starters, sit next to people in your class and try to have basic conversations with them. When tests are coming up or you have questions with homework, you can ask people that you have met and you could study with them. Over time, you may naturally become friends!

Another option is to join clubs or organizations on your campus! There may be clubs for things you are interested in or you may join another type of organization (most campuses have tons!!).

Good luck!
