Any other options?
I want to stay instate to go to college but, I do not know what school would be best for film and theatre besides the university of Utah are there any other options? #college #theatre #film

Most universities around the country offer film programs. The most well-renowned being in Southern California or New York (USC, UCLA, Chapman, San Francisco State, Cal State Northridge, NYU... etc.). I would definitely do your research and make your choice based on that research.
What makes a film school a "top film school" is two things: faculty and connections to the industry. These two drivers will attract the most talented students and competition to get in can be fierce. Also, please keep in mind, the more prestigious the film school, the more expensive it will be.
I would strongly recommend you answer this question: what is your goal? If your goal is to get a degree in filmmaking, then by all means study film. Please know that studying film will not land you a job in the industry. What film school allows you to do is this helps you build a solid foundation from a theoretical point of view. It will help you read films in an academic and critical way.
When I worked in the industry, I always told film students this: "one day on a professional set is worth a semester in film school." A degree in ANYTHING is crucial to have, but it doesn't necessarily have to be in film. If your goal is to work in production, set experience is important. If your goal is to work in producing (development, studio management, etc.), it's more important to have a background in business AND knowledge of the film industry.

You need to ask adviser and research to find that will fit because hard to say. Depending on what kind of carrier that you wanna be. Since those field very large field to exactly job a position.
