Yes, as a college student you can apply to any internship in most industries with the right requisites.It is relatively easy but you do have to follow certain steps. For example, I'm going into my senior year, in college, but have had the opportunity of interning since my third year, therefore during my sophomore year, I had to comply with the firms requirements and also follow the schools procedure to apply to any internship that they are providing us with. Some may have limitations based on what year you are in college. Skills are always important and required for any internship, you bring your own to enhance those skills and learn new ones during the internship experience.

Plan your years in college efficiently so that applying can become relatively easy and not a hassle

Hi!

Most industries do take student internships. There are many upsides to having a student internship, especially at startups where they need help, but don't necessarily have the budget to hire on another full-time employee. Internships are also great experience and resume builders. I highly recommend talking to your advisor about summer internship possibilities!
