In Texas, definitely in the oil & gas industry (however, it has its up and downs depending on how the oil market goes). Also, in the farm and ranch area, i.e., fencing, modifications to farm/ranch equipment. There is also a big market for meat smoker builds (in Texas, this is pretty big) - some of the current smoker fabricators are months behind on their builds because the demand is high - I'm not sure how Covid-19 impacts this, but there is a market for this. In Texas, Houston and the coastal cities are best location for the most welding opportunities in the oil industry. The highest paid oil industry welding jobs also come with the most risk... off-shore oil rig repair and underwater pipeline repair to name a couple. There is also a lot of activity in North Dallas (Frisco, Celina, Plano) in commercial construction. Several large buildings going up and lots of school construction.
