Like any profession an automotive technician that really wants to succeed must have many skills that need constant studying, certification, and re-certification. You have to stay on top of the latest technology as it changes faster than ever. There are more than 10 separate disciplines involved with automotive technology employment. It often does not pays super well at first but wages increase as your skills do. The toughest repairs to perform are usually diagnosis and electrical. It is quite challenging. That said it is one of the most rewarding careers you can ever start. Like anything worth doing it worth doing good and is for sure totally worth your efforts. Get after it and own it George!
