Arthur David’s Answer

Mechanical Engineering is the design of anything used for movement made out of metal or any hard material that can be joined together to provide movement. One very basic item that everyone uses is a Clock. A Clock has many parts inside of it made of various metals which joined together move the hands of the Clock. These parts must be designed using mechanical engineering calculations and formulas based on Physics. Any assembly that moves or rotates without the use of Gas, Hydraulics, Electrical Current or Water is considered a mechanical assembly operating with metal parts within that must be designed according to it's operational requirements.

CK’s Answer

As a mechanical engineer, I’d say it’s one of the vast courses in engineering discipline.
Mechanical engineering is the study, design, development, construction, and testing of mechanical and thermal sensors and devices, including tools, engines, and machines. Mechanical engineering careers center on creating technologies to meet a wide range of human needs.
Mechanical engineering subjects include automobile engineering, manufacturing engineering, power plant engineering, thermal engineering, and mechatronics engineering, which is a combination of electrical, computer, and mechanical engineering.
What do mechanical engineers do? Mechanical engineers generally work in offices but are sometimes called to the field, visiting worksites when a problem or piece of equipment needs their personal attention, and to oversee elements of construction. Mechanical engineers work mostly in engineering services, research and development, and manufacturing.
Mechanical engineering has its roots in the industrial revolution with the advent of the steam engine, automated manufacturing, and the demands of railroad transportation requiring increasingly innovative and sophisticated engineering solutions.

Athuraliya ’s Answer

In my point of view,
Mechanical Engineering is basically use physics and apply to an any given systems to improve its function-ability to desired/required needs.

Who you want be;this is something you should decide. No one can tell you what you should become.

There is no issue choosing a field to make a career, as long as you put hard work and effort, you will become who you need to be.

If you like Mechanical Engineering, go ahead, if that where your passion is.
