Hi,

You usually start out doing the simple stuff at a shop, oil changes and the like. These typically may pay 15/hr. As you gain more knowledge about a particular brand or a particular area (electrical, engine rebuilding) you will be paid a lot more. It's about your skill level - the more complicated jobs you can do the more you will get paid.
