How can i create a successful merge between two completely different types of careers.

In the near future, I wish to become a health science entrepreneur. This career blends together the essentials of being a health science professional and entrepreneur; two completely different types of pathways. However, I have no friends or family members who have completed a similar career let alone though of it. For this reason, I am utterly lost when it comes to knowing what to select as my major in order to exploit my opportunities at college.

Hi Juan, if you wanna enter or stay in the health science sector, you'd better get a degree or spend enough time learning things there. It is a very unique sector in the US and a degree related to the field get you into the door. Which you are doing that, just stay sensitive about the business trends in the industry and think about the company you wanna start. Entrepreneurship is more a life-style than a profession. Good or sustainable entrepreneurs live with perseverance and innovation. Hold on to the passion or curiosity you have in health science. Try different things before you can get specific

Hi Juan, there are a TON of healthcare startups right now!

That's a list of about 12,000. I would consider getting a degree in something that would give you a background in healthcare (biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, public health - tons of options) and either minor or double major in entrepreneurship (something many colleges have these days). While in college, I would try to find internships with companies doing cool things in the healthcare space - many are based in either Boston or San Francisco. In those opportunities, you can see firsthand what you like and learn a ton.

Well go for the Gold Juan!

You should start with your passion first, and schooling for Health Science in my opinion. This reason I say this is because you have a change to enhance skills needed further down the line. For instance, what you learn as a Health professional will sculpt your entrepreneur lifestyle. You may even want to go back to school and double major for Business. Just remember you have choices and there nothing wrong with exploring those options as your further your education. Find someone to shadow (entrepreneurship), and become the pathway, follow your dream (health science)!

Visit your local college resource center they should have literature for you to read and gain knowledge...
