Michael’s Answer

You need to find what works for you and the courses/professors. I had always started with an hour or two of prep work (pre-reading, note taking, preparing questions) before each hour of course, followed by ~15-30 minutes to review and clean-up notes. To achieve high notes in some of my courses, I brought in related articles/thoughts from other sources. I looked to always be engaged, active, & respectful in the classes.

This creates a busy schedule, which I managed by keeping a tight calendar. for exams, I scheduled preparation time well before the test, with just reviewing the difficult points again the day before.

Ask if you have questions and if the professor is not available, leverage their assistants or tutors. Get help early if needed.

Hi Kendra!

Here are some good suggestions. You might also talk to your high school counselor to get some tips and learn more about the difference between high school and college.
