Im looking to pursue a career in the NFL working in the front office, do you think I should look at going to school for Law, Sports management or both?

I'm in 10th grade and I would really enjoy pursuing a job in sports management because I love football and want to work in the front office of an NFL team. Also wondering what another degree instead of sports management would help like law maybe?#nfl #nflfrontoffice

Great question! If you want to work in the NFL front office, both sports management and law are strong options. Sports management gives you direct industry knowledge, while a law degree is highly respected in front offices, especially for contract negotiation, compliance, and salary cap strategy.

You don’t need both degrees, but combining sports knowledge with strong business or legal skills will give you an edge. Other great degree options include business, finance, analytics, or communications.

What’s most important is gaining real-world experience and building connections in sports—through volunteering, internships, or even helping out with high school or local teams.

Rachel's research and answer is fantastic info! I also highly recommend you get involved in a sports team as a volunteer, intern and any capacity possible as soon as possible. Many of the large teams have non-profit foundations that help with local community causes. It would be great if you could help an organization like that while getting experience and meeting relevant people in the business. When time to do an internship (typically in college) do research to determine what is involved in being considered for an internship opportunity for a sports organization, even if an unpaid internship, the experience and connections are extremely valuable!!
