Congratulations on choosing Math/Statistics for your major Xueting! Statistics majors work in a lot of different kinds of jobs. I work in the insurance industry and statistics is critical to identifying what prices we charge our customers, which is a special branch of statistics called actuarial science. Statistics also help us understand where to market our products, and how to help our customers get in fewer accidents and keep their homes safer.

The American Statistical Association has a really great website that shows you some of the other options you have.

Good luck and have fun learning all you can about how to analyze problems. If you do, you'll have plenty of job opportunities!

If you like statistics and want to continue with it, I would suggest a business insights or analytics role. It is a great way to learn about a business and will truly enable you to put your skills to work. Business insights is an asset in almost every company.
