Hi mason,

I do not think that stress is related to what you do for a living, such as carpentry, but by a number of other factors. One is how much you like what you are doing. And two is more related to knowing what you are doing. If you have both of those two areas covered, you will be able to handle some of the other stressors better. For example, as a carpenter, stress may come from being a self employed person or from working for a company. In many job situations, stress comes a lot from the people around you, whether its customers or your boss. This may include unreasonable expectations or being who just don't understand what it takes to a do a job. It may come from being asked to create or fix something that you never have before.

It sounds like you are worried about being stressed. Stress can be useful at times. It can be a motivator or give you fuel. That's why people procrastinate. They often need the stress of a deadline to be motivated. Everyone has stress. Your challenge will be managing it. For some people, negative emotions can cause stress. That is when having a good plan for stress is helpful. There is exercise and meditation. Sometimes it is just getting away from what you are doing, like working on a hobby or taking a vacation.
