The experiences of coaching all the 3 groups mentioned above differ from one another in various ways. However, it all depends on how flexible you are with your coaching styles. For instance, when it comes to the youngest group, do know that most kids prefer just to have fun and that would mean your training can't be as serious, many little fun drills have to be involved but do try to switch it up a little by adding tougher drills to make sure they improve.

Teens and Adults are generally easier to coach as they have the tendency to pay attention more but you have to have control of the group or else they too can be equally tough to coach just like kids.

With that being said, you would have to just find the balance and flexibility with your coaching styles to see which age group works for you best.

Jenn’s Answer

I've done some coaching in the past and really enjoyed it. I'm happy to coach anyone, of any age, who is willing to try what I suggest and work hard. But, that being said, I've coached kids ages 9-18, and it's definitely a different experience coaching 9-year-olds versus high schoolers. If you're interested in coaching, I'd recommend volunteering with a local team in your area and seeing which age groups you naturally gravitate toward.
