Karin’s Answer

Hi Brenden,

It depends what you are interested in and where you want to go with that education. You can get an associates degree in 2 years. Your typical bachelors degree takes 4 years. After your bachelors you can get a masters (maybe ~2 years) and a PhD (4-5 years). In some professions like physicians or lawyers, you need to complete a 4-year undergraduate degree before even going to med school or law school, respectively. It's similar for dentists or veterinarians. Physicians then have to do a residency in their specialty that can last between 3 to 7 years.

I hope this helps! All the best to you!

Associates degrees can be completed in 2 years, but I completed a bachelors degree in 4 years (which is the typical average). Others can pursue higher education degrees (Masters, Doctorates, etc.) but these can take multiple additional years to complete.

Paul’s Answer

Most bachelor degrees can be completed in 4 years if you go full-time. If you are really dedicated you could do it in 3-31/2 years but that would require summer classes and carrying a lot of credits each semester. I personally completed my B.A. in 4 years on a full-time basis. I'm currently pursuing my MBA part-time since I work full-time so it will take me 4 years to complete that. .
