Avianne’s Answer

Usually, yes. Bank tellers receive on the job training that prepares them for their role. It may be more attractive to have a background in either business, finance or accounting however, especially if you'd like to move up into management one day.

Scott’s Answer

It does not normally take a college degree to be a bank teller; however, a business degree may give you an advantage. It will also likely give you an advantage in moving up within the bank once you have the job.

Jeremy’s Answer

You do not need a college degree to be a bank teller. And, better yet, as an employee, most banks will pay for (or, at least, a portion of) your college tuition if you go to school at nights/weekends or on line while remaining employed (that is how I got my masters). A bank teller is a great way to start in banking! I would recommend applying for any open teller positions you see in your area and go from there.
Hope that helps and good luck!

Hi Stephanie, you don’t need to have any degree to land a Teller/Cashier/CSR job in the banking field. however, the teller job could be just a beginning of your career , so you need to think about what would you like to do in the future -and if it’s retail no degree Uba degree never hurts-it will only enhance your chances of moving forward n the field weather you begin in retail and transform into back office.
