Like Amy, I had a prior career as a journalist; however, I worked as a freelance journalist rather than for one specific news source. Hands down the best part was connecting people and their stories to others. Every one has a story to tell, and journalists have a beautiful platform and responsibility to tell them well and without bias. It's not an easy career path but one so necessary to do well and honorably. Best wishes in this field! We need you!

With a degree in journalism, I spent my first few years out of college working as a journalist. I can tell you the most exciting thing for me was helping to right a wrong. Journalists get an opportunity to hear from many different types of people and sometimes something will come your way that you just know isn't right or just and you have an opportunity through words and publications to correct something that makes a difference for people!
