Can I make a career on Pokemon?

I am 12 and I absolutely LOVE Pokemon. But can I make a career on It? #gaming #cards #pokemon

I love your question, and I'm also a Pokemon fan. I think an interesting idea to consider would be working for a gaming/media company that produces Pokemon games as well as products. You could have a career in design, business, or computer science/engineering at any of the Pokemon affiliated companies below.

Hi Tommy,


That is a really interesting question. You can start by trading and collecting Pokemon Cards. Perhaps you will build up a big enough collection to sell them? Thinking beyond Pokemon cards? Maybe you want to look into working in retail or finance (stocks and bonds) where you will sell things beyond Pokemon cards.

Hi Tommy,


This is an interesting question. I loved Pokemon a lot when I was a kid. I had a lot the old cards-I had a shiny Charizard, I sold it for like $100 5 years ago. I also played a lot of the videos games. (I had a Gameboy Advance SP and the original DS. I feel super old now haha.)


I think it is possible you can have a job involving Pokemon. Would be interested in designing the Pokemon video games? Perhaps you can look into a career in game design. You can look into studying Computer Science in college. The Natalie gave you some great advice. If you are not interested in technology or computer science. Finance, sales, or marketing are other industries you should look at. Hope this helps!

I would suggest to start a YouTube channel with you playing and giving your insight about the game. At that point you could make money from YouTube just by doing what you love.

You are 12 when you asked the Question and you must be 14 by now, In case you still wanna make your career in Pokemon pls read through.


First thing is there is no E-sports or any Gaming tournament for any of the Pokemon Games so you can become a professional gamer

You can become a collector, but the audience you will be selling are mostly Kids like you and wont be able to pay Huge sum.

You can become a YouTuber which is the most viable option, you can use your Pokemon knowledge to educate or create content.
