Best is subjective. Regarding available roles, data engineering, and cyber security are big ones for medicine. Protecting personal medical info is a huge demand in medicine and building the data infrastructure to house and access those records is essential. The salary will vary by geography but be close to the national average but probably not as good as tech. in terms of technical skills, you could be self-taught but typical you would want a traditional 4-year degree and maybe a grad degree depending on the title.
