What collegiate opportunities exist for equestrians (esp. eventers)?

I've been horseback riding my entire life, and plan to continue doing so during (and after) college. What affordable horseback riding programs exist in college? Are there any eventing programs, or is it better to train outside of school? Also, what scholarships exist for equestrians, and are there any affordable options that allow me to bring my horse to school?

Hi Amanda,

I would suggest doing some online research about colleges and programs in your area. If you willing to travel out of state, then you might want to look into Savannah College of Art & Design ( SCAD ). They have a degree program for Equestrian studies. This is located in Savannah, GA and the school has an exceptional reputation.
