I had this same spark when I was in High School. Our school was luck enough to provide CNA or Certified Nursing Assistant classes. As a CNA you will cover many of the introductory information for nursing. It was a great hands on approach in the field of my interest. I believe these classes had a 16 year old requirement. Predominantly CNA's work with the elderly, which can give you more exposure to high quality practices since they are more susceptible to infection or disease.

Rian’s Answer

Hi Bri!
It's so awesome that you want ot be a nurse. You can totally pursue being a nurse while still being in high school! I would recommend reaching out to hospitals near you and ask to volunteer. Most likely you'll be able to shadow a nurse and see what they do on a daily basis. When applying to different nursing programs, you can then reflect on these experiences and mention how they shaped your passion!
