For the record, not a dr. Just a mom of two. An OBGYN is there during the pregnancy and postpartum. You have routine checkups that measure your weight, blood pressure and they sign off on referrals for blood work (lots of blood work) and ultrasounds.
They check in on how you are feeling and if there’s any concerns or issues that arise.
They usually deliver the baby and also are there for your postpartum visits to make sure you’re healing okay and to help if they see signs of postpartum depression to refer you to get extra help. Your family dr usually covers the baby’s check ups.
