how many years did you go to school just to pursue a career as a veterinarian?

In the future i would love to become a Veterinarian, but i would also want to know how many years do i have to go to school just to pursue my career. #veterinarian

The most typical path is 4 years of college and 4 years in veterinary school. Then you may do a residency that could be a few more years, if you decide to specialize, but that is optional.

In my case it took me 9 years. 4 years of college to complete my undergrad degree in Science. Then, 4 years of vet school. And finally 1 year completing an internship.
