Sue’s Answer

Hi Sarah Eve

Being an in-house lawyer is exciting because you're part of a team and help make real decisions daily.

Unlike traditional lawyers who work in law firms or legal practice, you work directly within the company.

This lets you see how the business operates and understand the people involved.

You get to solve problems as they happen, not just by reading laws, but by helping your colleagues find creative and practical solutions.

Your role is crucial in making sure the company thrives safely and legally.

Lynn’s Answer

I used to work as a lawyer and am now in an in-house legal role.

For me, the most interesting part of being an investment lawyer was the opportunity to accompany venture-backed companies through their growth journey. It was fascinating to learn about innovative business ideas and to engage directly with some of the most talented entrepreneurs.

In my current role as in-house counsel, the most rewarding aspect is collaborating with colleagues from different departments. Each of us contributes our own expertise to solve complex problems together, and through that process, we not only achieve project results but also build strong professional partnerships.

DENNIS’s Answer

Hi Sarah Eve:

Helping people is the most fun! I once won a trial in Brooklyn, NY and the wife came up to me to thank me because now she and her husband could start a family. That felt great.
Being creative on issues and on trial is also a lot of fun.

Remember, life is what YOU make it - make it fun and you'll always have fun!
