What is the best way to jumpstart your career goals during college?
I already have a plan on what I want to do with my life, I'm just not sure where or how to start. I plan on becoming a genetic counselor and currently have my CNA, and I have already chosen a college to go to. I'm just trying to figure out where to go from here.

Hi Kaitlyn,
The best advice I can offer is to actively network with professionals and organizations in your field. This could mean volunteering or applying for internships—anything that gives you hands-on experience. The more exposure and real-world knowledge you gain outside the classroom, the better positioned you'll be to jumpstart your career and stand out from other candidates.

Hi Kaitlyn, wow that is awesome you've found an area you love already. I would recommend networking and finding a mentor or a sponsor. Once you start college, connect with the right department, clubs, or professors and start talking about your career goals. I bet you'll start making lots of connections, and you never know what opportunities may arise (think volunteering, internships, etc.) Best of luck to you!
