What is the hardest part of college for Junior level classes and higher?

I am going in as a freshman to college, but with enough credits to be classified under junior-level courses. I will be doing Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech and will also be doing the cadet program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Kelso: I am from NC as well and now live in VA! The best advice I can give relating to college and success will also apply when you graduate and join the working world. Work (study) - life balance is important. You have selected a great, but tough, area but if you study every day and keep up with your coursework, you will be successful. I know everyone hates to do it, but if you can learn to be an early riser you get so much done in terms of studying. Find a dedicated study area - use the library! Study hard but take time to enjoy yourself, make friends and enjoy this time in your life. Don't let the sole focus of your life and your studies be "get a job, it isn't related to a job" - take 1-2 courses in the 4 years unrelated to your area of study to feed your mind and soul and give yourself a break - theatrical set design courses actually complement mechanical engineering!! You will certainly be busy being a cadet and studying, but the friends you make in college last a lifetime - take time to enjoy life. I wish you every success. You can do it. Hilary
