Hey Ethel!
Becoming an actress and singer takes a lot of dedication, but it’s possible! Start by honing your craft with acting and singing lessons. Build a portfolio with headshots, demo reels, and recordings.
Audition for local productions and use social media to share your performances and grow your fanbase. Networking is key, so connect with others in the industry. Once you gain experience, consider getting an agent to help you land bigger gigs. Keep working hard and stay persistent success will come with time!

Hello Ethel!
Simple answer: Being an actress or singer is really about wanting to share stories and connect with people. It's about expressing feelings, exploring the human experience, and touching others through your art. If you love performing for those reasons, you’re on the right path! Fame or money can sometimes come along the way, but they aren’t what make the journey rewarding or meaningful.

Hello, Ethel !
There is no "how to" to become famous. That is the first thing that you will have to accept. Once you are comfortable with that and you're really serious about going into acting and singing, then you can explore these careers. It's not what you think.
Nothing anyone can tell you will cause you to be rich, famous and a household name. Even the ones who are in this category never realized it would happen to them. So you must first realize that Acting and Singing are Jobs, not vehicles to fill a void in one's life. People who are wealthy also have problems. Their life goes beyond what you see in the media, very much so. So, your first step is to get a strong real idea about these careers first and then decide if you are willing to learn how to become a professional at them. You should begin inquiring about how you can start at your current school, in your age group and it will take many more years of experience, education and life experience to reach professional level.
What you see in the media is a finished product and a lot of work and tolerance went into it. You will have to be someone who doesn't mind being told what to do constantly. You will need to work extremely well with people of all backgrounds and personalities. It is an opinion business, so getting work is heavily dependent on people in the industry saying "yes" to you. You do not choose fame, it's something that happens by chance.
Many young people do think that performing is a great way to be adored, loved, popular and that it is all fun, games and glamour. I can assure you, if you are serious about a solid career, it's not that way at all. It is a huge investment: financially, time commitment, traveling, networking, being judged on how you look and how you sound, filled with both harmony and conflict. Social and life experience is the best preparation.
Right now, whatever grade you are in, pay close attention to communication skills, writing, reading and becoming detail oriented. You will need some self reflection about your thoughts on these careers and discover exactly what your need for fame and fortune is. Singing and Acting is not for us, it's for an audience, so you will need to discover if you have the beneficial mindset for these careers.
What messages have you received about fame and wealth ? There are so many other ways other than performing that you can contribute and be recognized for your work. Fame and wealth do not bring happiness - you'd just have a usual life based on how your life turns out if it happens. You'd also be scrutinized and not necessarily respected. You'd have to be ready for that and that only comes with personal development and life experience. And just as an aside, you don't "get an agent", an Agent would have to choose you. You will have to study Acting and Singing enough to know how to do the career and learn all about the business.
If you do start to pursue these careers in your current school, try to keep your desires about fame and fortune quiet because there are some people out there that can take advantage of young starters with stars in their eyes. You should discuss this career with your parents, too and have them help you with starting out. Do not invest in anything until you are ready to start auditioning and that can be some years still.
I hope that this frank advice is helpful and I wish you well with self discovery and personal growth.
