If you had the option to redo college, what would you change and what would you do over again?

College experiences are the ones you will never forget. If there was a redo button, what would you chose?

TRAVIS’s Answer

Hello,
I would redo my last two years of high school and had taken more dual credit and AP courses so as not to have to take as many general studies classes in college. Once in college, any other eligible basic level course I would have tried to test out of them via the CLEP test. I would have saved a lot of money and time doing those two things. Additionally, I would have bought a condo or small house if I could not have stayed in the dorms full time. This way I would have kept the money in the form of equity and gotten all the money back when I graduated and sold the place I stayed at or kept it and continued to live it in or rented it out if I did move away. May not be an option for everyone, but it can be it you work alot in high school and continue to have a job in college.

Gurpreet’s Answer, CareerVillage.org Team

I loved every second of my college experience, including the highs and lows, but if I could go back in time, I would make one change: taking advantage of the career services department on my campus. I was too focused my acing my classes and having fun that I didn't spend much time preparing for the actual job market which made my transition from student to employee more difficult. I wish I had gone to more career fairs and taken the opportunity to really network with those organizations
