What does a geographic information systems technician do on the daily?

Currently in high school and am interested in going into this field.

Lots of computer work at your desk, and hopefully field work using GPS and surveying equipment. If you like computer work, you would probably like being a GIS technician. The growth has been tremendous. And I think it will continue for as far as the eye can see.
