How will the field of optometry be affected within the next five years with the exponential advancements in AI?

I plan on attending optometry school after recieveing my bachelors degree. My interest in optometry started when I was in second grade and I hope to pursue it to change the world of optometry!

Hi Yasmin,

Passion is one of the most important aspect for any profession.
The AI is really at the beginning of its revolution. I work with AI and I can tell you the Heathcare is one of the biggest beneficiary of it, and I believe for Optometry will not be any different.
If you can do some research on what AI is already doing in on the eye care and medical procedures, in terms of super advancing imaging, faster diagnostics, and dta analysis for preventive healthcare, you might very excited of what the future holds for your profession.
I would suggest to starting voluteering with any Heath Care association with are working already with AI to starting to get the "feeling" on what you can do by yourself once you graduate.
