How do I think about AI impacting my future career with excitement instead of fear ? #Fall25
I have heard my friends complain about AI "ruining their future careers" How do I avoid falling into this?

See it as an enabler to multiply your impact. AI is a tool. Use it and think of it as such. AI will need people to build it, maintain it, power it, and ethically guide it. That is what makes the difference. Stand out in an AI world by making yourself an extraordinary human.

If your goal is to keep apace, you need to know how it works at a foundational level. There's the perspective of end user, but knowing how the basic algorithms work is very important.
Understand the industry you are in, as well as knowing your customer - different departments within a company.
Change will always be a constant, so learn to deal with it.
Flexibility in understanding the client's needs in order to take the best approach.
Try to imagine ways it could apply to various aspects of your life.

AI is a tool — you are a living, breathing person! Learn to describe it, use it, and see it as such. You are more than the labor, productivity, and revenue generation you can provide a company. I can’t guarantee it won’t ever impact your career negatively as I don’t even know what the future holds for me, and I’m only two years into my career. That said, I want you to always believe in yourself, be your own biggest advocate, connect + network with any/everyone, always take opportunities to expand your capabilities, never stop exercising your creativity, and hold onto your humanism.
