How can I improve my vocabulary and writing?
I am a junior doing IB so I'm expected to be at the very least decent with my writing, which I am. But I sometimes feel a little overwhelmed when I look at my peers and see how easy it is for them to express their ideas so clearly. I do gotta say that I am introverted, which could maybe have effect? However, I speak when I know I have to. Anytime I have to write an essay spontaneously, I notice that my brain kind off goes blank and I resort to using somewhat basic language to express my point. I enjoy reading so I am more than open to look at books for help with expanding my vocabulary and learning how to write better. Please feel free to share any tips!

I agree with what others have said. I read a lot and always have a thesaurus or dictionary nearby.
Try solving word puzzles like crosswords, word searches, and Wordle. They can really help!

When it comes to writing, don't try to make your first sentence perfect. Many people "go blank" because they feel pressured to write well immediately. Instead, you can jot down any ideas that come to mind. Once you have a few thoughts on the page, it becomes much easier to turn them into clear paragraphs.
It also helps to look at good writing examples, like good essays or opinion articles. You need to pay attention to how the writer introduces their ideas, how they explain their points, and how they move from one idea to the next. You can even practice copying their structure in a short paragraph to get a feel for how effective writing flows.
