What kind of career paths can I pursue with a biomedical engineering degree?

I'm a first year undergraduate student at the University of Iowa. I am currently participating in undergrad research and absolutely love it!

Hi Ash - it sounds like your college career is off to a great start! And, by mentioning how much you love doing research, you may have identified a terrific career path for yourself.
The link to a Johns Hopkins article below identifies several more paths, such as medical or pharmaceutical product development or management. According to the Indeed.com article linked below, job prospects are good. The Indeed.com career guide has more articles about biomedical engineering, and I encourage you to read them.
The third link is to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) which agrees that job prospects are good.
I would suggest getting to know the University of Iowa career counseling center, which may have other ideas and alumni connections for internships and eventual employment. Your departmental advisor may also have good ideas.
