What advice would you give someone thinking about majoring in music?
I have been thinking about majoring in music because it is the only major that interests me. I think I could be a band teacher or something.

Hi Evan,
Choosing to major in something you love, like Music, is fantastic! It's something you'll really enjoy. Some schools offer music programs that focus on the music industry, which can help you explore different career paths in music. You can dive into music history, performance, and more. If you're interested in teaching, consider taking a variety of classes. Adding some business courses could also be helpful, giving you a good understanding of the industry and helping you succeed, even if you choose a path other than teaching.
I hope this advice is useful.
Wishing you all the best,
Dan

Do you have any previous experience in playing an instrument? Music could be difficult to learn at first but after about a year you get into the groove and start to grasp the concepts that are being taught. You have to stay dedicated to it and push through even when it seems like your not making progress, you have to keep pushing forward!
