How do we do it all when we are only 1 person?
Hi... My name is Sydney. As a student with young children at home, how do you prioritize your academic goals while also meeting the needs of your family, and what strategies have worked best for you? Thanks all! #Fall25

Rebecca gave good advice on time management, so I'll focus elsewhere. I admire that you respect your family commitments, and one of my suggestions is that you have a meeting with the family to explain your concerns and your commitment to the family, but also your needs. By emphasizing your commitment, you avoid being perceived as wanting to avoid responsibility, but as one who accepts responsibility. The family needs to you to be an active member, but they also need to respect the times that you need to focus on yourself, whether to study, to daydream, or to have some social activity. In such a meeting, what you're seeking are THEIR commitments to honor your request and to be supportive. Without such a meeting, you are facing the challenges alone. By getting family to help, everyone will do better. This helps prevent resentment, or making undue requests as though your time was always available. You will grow in such a meeting because this is your opportunity to schedule the meeting, to lead the discussion, and to emphasize the importance. The benefit is that the family will feel closer and more participants in your plan, and you will be able to share with them. The meeting may go quickly, but it may also open the opportunity for you and your family to periodically share joint and personal goals. Your success is their success. One final note: I suggest your academic goal be to do well in class. The time to find the perfect career is a different time. You have enough to focus on here. I wish you well.

Thank you for your question. This is a question on your time management. Firstly, you need to find a time management to help, e.g. Google Calendar, MS Outlook, Phone calendar, etc.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Put down the time you need to attend classes
2. You can then put down the time you need to take care of your family and children
3. Assign some time everyday on your assignments, projects, etc. Review the material covered in the call everyday
4. Make sure you have enough time to sleep and do some exercise
5. Have some time to relax and for your leisure on weekends
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!
