Explore real estate funds' websites, including REITs and Private Equity ones. They often share insights about their investments, explaining why they chose certain properties, their investment strategies, and future plans. This can be a great way to learn and get inspired.

Try to learn some basic accounting. Understanding income statements, pro-forma statements, and balance sheets will be very useful.

If you have time, consider taking a real estate class at a local community college. These classes might cover topics like investing, property management, and real estate law. I took a real estate investing class at night early in my career, and it was incredibly helpful for my growth and resume. Plus, community colleges often offer discounts or even free classes for high school students, making it an affordable option.

Hi Christian! I like that you're thinking about this at 16, that's a huge head start. I'd suggest reaching out to local real estate agents or property management companies and offering to help with anything like organizing files, assisting at open houses, or managing social media for listings. I think working at a hardware store or with a local contractor is also great because understanding repairs and renovation costs is a big part of investing that people overlook. On your own time, start learning the numbers by watching YouTube channels, reading beginner books, and practicing analyzing deals on sites like Zillow just to get comfortable with property values and rental income. If you can, attend local real estate meetups because people in that space like seeing young motivated individuals and are usually happy to mentor. Keep that energy up!
