How should I start being mother's helper or babysitter?
I moved here from Korea about 6 months ago, but I'm still very good at English. I'm currently in 6th grade, so I'm thinking to do more of a mother's helper than a babysitter, and I'm good at math so I'm thinking I could help kids with their homework too. I've never done anything like this before except for playing with my cousins(who are 7 years old) and my mom's friends' kids. I'm sort of worried because I've hardly ever played with young girls before, only boys, although I'm a girl myself.

To get started, ask neighbors, family friends, or local parents if they need help after school. Let them know you're good at homework, playing games, or helping with chores. You mentioned Facebook, so check local community groups or neighborhood pages for posts looking for helpers. Just make sure your parents are involved when you reach out to anyone. It's safer that way.
When you begin, focus on the kids, ask what they like to do, and keep activities simple at first. You'll quickly gain confidence, and helping with homework or fun activities will show parents you're responsible. It's okay to make small mistakes as you learn.
