How do I know if the career path I chose is the right one for me?
I've been thinking about what I want to do for awhile now (I am most likely going for a computer science HCI degree) but I am still unsure and anxious about it, any tips to help feel better with my choice?

Hey Elena,
Not sure whether you are in school or something else, but assuming that you are, but like Rebecca said, I think it would be good to identify a couple of careers you might be interested in and work backwards from there —e.g. what kind of degree, skills, experience are required to get that job (you can look up job requirement on Linkedin) and come up with a 3-4 year plan on how you'll go about achieving them.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. It is always good to pursue skills that are applicable to 2-3 careers instead of going all in on a particular career (lest you dont like it in future)
2. Try to talk to folks who work in those careers to get a sense of what a day in their life looks like (e.g. what kind of working hours do they have? what kind of stress do they experience? What does the future look like for that role? What is career trajectory for that role etc.)
3. Be flexible - dont get too hung up on a particular career since things change, your interests change, your values change with time - so it is important to be in tune with the industry as well as your needs and desires as you go about this journey.

Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1 - 2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
