I want to urge you to apply to multiple medical schools. Although Baylor is excellent, it is generally true that it is hard to get into any medical school, and applying to more schools increases your chances. All medical schools in the U.S. are good, so getting into any is fine. I moved far away from home for medical school, and it was an excellent growth opportunity for me to live in a different part of the country and experience a different culture.
The single most important thing for any medical school application is to have excellent grades. Other things that make one stand out are research experience, leadership roles, and volunteer roles that demonstrate you care for others. It can also be helpful (and a source of income) to become an EMT, MA, or ED Tech to show you have had some experience caring for patients.

Hi Christopher, it's a good idea to start working on your volunteer hours. Medical schools like applicants who are well-rounded. Stay with one organization for your four years to show dedication and persistence, qualities important for medical school. Look for a community group that focuses on something you care about.
