Nathalye’s Answer

Becoming a surgeon takes many years of schooling and practice. First, earn a bachelor's degree while completing pre-med courses. Then, take the MCAT and apply to medical school, which lasts about four years. After medical school, complete a surgical residency that lasts 5 to 7 years, depending on your specialty. During residency, you train in hospitals under supervision and gradually take on more duties. Some surgeons do a fellowship after residency to specialize further, which adds a few more years.
