How am I able to make it to Study abroad?
I really want to go study in another country. How did you all make that happen and was it worth it?

I studied abroad in Spain for 1 semester, and it was completely worth it. I made some really good friends while I was there. I was able to travel to a bunch of different cities in Spain and also to 4 other countries. It was great to experience a different culture and also gain independence, as I did the program without many close friends when I started. I wouldn't do anything differently with my experience - I had a blast and learned a ton. I don't know that there's another time in my life where I could live abroad for ~4 months anymore (well maybe in retirement!). On the other hand, my sister was able to study abroad during the summer semester so that it wouldn't mess up her engineering classes in a more specific major - this allowed her to focus on her minor (Spanish) while abroad.
I discussed my options with the Study Abroad office at my university, as well as with advisors in my specific major (engineering) to work out my class schedule and how to stay on track to graduate on time. Each school will be different, but I would suggest reaching out to the Study Abroad office, or a student affairs office to see what your options are.
I highly suggest studying abroad if you are able to! Best of luck.
