Having a job as a nurse assistant does fulfill your need to help others. After obtaining license I would gain additional hands on experience in an area that interests you such as pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency medicine, critical care. It’s important to develop and focus on specific skills related to each specialty. Best of luck!

Seems like you are on the right track, as a CNA, you'll get the opportunity to care for people of different ages and backgrounds while building valuable hands-on experience.
Since you're in college, becoming a CNA can also open doors to other healthcare careers if you decide to continue in the field. If you're in California, several state-approved nursing schools, including SisuCare and LA Skills, offer CNA training programs that can help you get certified and start working relatively quickly. Best of luck!
