Studying medicine in Italy
Hi everyone,
Some of you may have seen my previous questions over the past few years. I genuinely appreciate all the advice I received. At the time, I was exploring different pathways into medicine and trying to understand what options were realistic for me.
After doing a lot more research and reflecting on the advice I was given, I've decided to pursue Medicine in Italy. My current plan is to prepare for the IMAT in 2027.
I'm hoping to connect with someone—especially a Nigerian or another non-EU student—who has successfully gone through this process and would be willing to guide me.
I would really appreciate advice on questions such as:
- How did you decide which Italian medical school to apply to?
- What scholarships did you apply for, and which ones are most realistic for non-EU students?
- What documents should I start preparing now so I don't miss any important deadlines?
- What timeline did you follow, from IMAT preparation to university application, pre-enrolment, visa, and arrival in Italy?
- Looking back, is there anything you wish you had known before you started?
I'm trying to prepare as early as possible so that I don't overlook any important steps. Any guidance, resources, or personal experiences would mean a lot to me.
Thank you so much!
