Studying medicine in Italy
Hi everyone, Some of you may have seen my previous questions over the past few years. I genuinely appreciate all the advice I received. At the time, I was exploring different pathways into medicine and trying to understand what options were realistic for me. After doing a lot more research and reflecting on the advice I was given, I've decided to pursue Medicine in Italy. My current plan is to prepare for the IMAT in 2027. I'm hoping to connect with someone—especially a Nigerian or another non-EU student—who has successfully gone through this process and would be willing to guide me. I would really appreciate advice on questions such as: - How did you decide which Italian medical school to apply to? - What scholarships did you apply for, and which ones are most realistic for non-EU students? - What documents should I start preparing now so I don't miss any important deadlines? - What timeline did you follow, from IMAT preparation to university application, pre-enrolment, visa, and arrival in Italy? - Looking back, is there anything you wish you had known before you started? I'm trying to prepare as early as possible so that I don't overlook any important steps. Any guidance, resources, or personal experiences would mean a lot to me. Thank you so much!
Is it realistically possible to build a successful career in biological research in Italy?
I'm considering a long-term career in neuroscience or genetics research and I'm trying to understand whether Italy can realistically offer the opportunities needed to build an impactful academic career. From your experience, can researchers do internationally competitive work while staying in Italy, or do most eventually need to move abroad because of funding, career progression or research infrastructure? I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have worked both in Italy and abroad.
Which countries would you recommend for someone aiming for a long-term research career in neuroscience?
My goal is to become a researcher, not a clinician, and I'm looking for undergraduate programmes in English that provide a strong foundation for a future PhD and an academic career. Beyond rankings, which countries do you think offer the best environment for training future neuroscience researchers? Would you still consider the UK one of the best choices today, especially given how quickly AI is changing biomedical research? Additional information At the moment, the UK is my first choice because of its undergraduate Neuroscience degrees. I'm also open to countries such as the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany or the Nordic countries. In Italy, I've mostly ruled out studying, except for universities like Trento or Pavia, as I haven't found programmes that fit what I'm’m looking for. Do you think that's a sensible approach, or should I reconsider Italy or other countries?

What are some essentials for studying abroad?
I have read that you should have a luggage bag that isn't black and red, so it's easily distinguishable. But what are some really good tips that you would recommend? What to pack? What your parents can send in the mail? What kind of credit/debit card is most widely accepted? #travel #study-abroad #italy
Study Abroad studying a double-major in Music Performance and Business Administration?
I want to become a Property Manager but also I have been playing the clarinet for 9 years and I have filled a decent musical curriculum attending to music festivals, summer camps, playing in various ensembles; advanced orchestras, symphonic bands, professional orchestras, etc. My main goal is to study abroad either in Italy or Spain a whole year, having in mind that I would be studying a double major in two distinct fields. My main concern is if it is possible to do so. #study-abroad #music-performance #music #italy #spain- #spain #clarinet #property-management #business-management #busines
