You would sign up per semester depending on the length on the class. Most classes last a semester, but as you go on to your later years, you might have classes that are a full year or even just half a semester.

Hi, it's generally semester. However, I believe there may be classes that is for the entire year, so you may be automatically added to that class the next semester. You can confirm with the school registrar or if you're still applying, ask the admission counselor.
